Abstract
Thomas Chrowder Chamberlin (1843-1928), class of 1866, was a professor of science at Beloit College from 1873-1886. Though his academic interests were wide-ranging, he is best known for the Chamberlin-Moulton Planetesimal Hypothesis, a theory of solar system formation. His son, Rollin Thomas Chamberlin also was an accomplished geologist, and together they embarked on a survey trip to China in 1909 for the Oriental Educational Investigation Commission. On October 13, 1849 Stephen Pearl Lathrop became Beloit College's fifth faculty member, and taught chemistry and natural history. Lathrop Herbarium—formerly a room in Chamberlin Hall that housed mineralogical and botanical collections, many of which were part of the original college cabinet for the teaching of the sciences, including anthropology—was named for Professor Lathrop. Stephen Peet was one of the original founders and trustees of Beloit College. His son, Stephen Denison Peet, was in the college's first graduating class of 1851, and he went on to become a prominent archaeologist and founder of the journal American Antiquarian. This collection contains nearly the entire run of Beloit College's entire run student handbooks from 1887 to the 2006-2007 academic year. Originally published by the college YMCA, then the YMCA and YWCA, the Associated Students of Beloit College, and eventually the Dean of Students office. Theodore Lyman Wright papers

Abstract
Theodore Lyman Wright, a member of the class of 1880, returned to Beloit College to teach Greek and Fine Arts from 1888 until his odd death in 1926. The Wright Museum of Art is named after him. He is well-known for his work on translations of Greek plays and helping put them on at Beloit. A small amount of his materials are in Greek.
