Abstract This collection contains records in connection with the Center for Management Services and Applied Research, Inc., a subsidiary corporation wholly owned by Beloit College, and which was a revenue generation strategy involved with investments in technology, manufacturing, and marketing. Abstract

The Chapin Society records are mostly comprised of materials generated for the organization’s annual meetings, also called annual dinners. These materials include invitations, programs, attendee lists, award winner lists, and correspondence, especially between the Chapin Society president or executive secretary and the Beloit College Development Office. This collection gathers primary and secondary source materials regarding Beloit College's involvement in the Civil War. Of particular note are the lists of Beloit College students and faculty who fought in the war, historical sketches of the era, correspondence between college community members during and about the war, and photographs of soldiers.

Scope and Contents This collection primarily contains promotional materials (flyers, posters), artist contracts, photographs, and Round Table articles for events that took place in Beloit College's various cafes and other small venues, including Coughy Haus (C-Haus), Java Joint, and the Breeze Café.
