American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) materials; articles by and about Susan Welty; Christmas cards; college notes; correspondence; funny animal and bird pictures; manuscripts: Life of Birds (Joel Carl Welty) and Look Up and Hope (Susan Welty); newspaper clippings; photographs of and by the Weltys; published articles and books; speeches; writings. The Archives holds a comprehensive collection of original material (Carl's letters to Susan and photographs of Koblenz, Germany) upon which Welty's book, The Hunger Year in the French Zone of Divided Germany, 1946-47, was based.
