The Beloit College Honors Day records contain programs for most Academic Honors Day Convocations (also called Recognition Day) since 1943, and listed within the programs are names of recipients, arranged by field of study. Later editions of the programs offer explanations for the different awards, and various years feature covers designed by Beloit College students. Also held in the collection are correspondence, press releases (especially for Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities), audiovisuals, and other materials discussing nominees, awards budgets, the awards and their recipients.

Biographical / Historical
Beloit College’s Honors Day Convocation typically takes place at the end of the academic year. Called Recognition Day until 1949, the event celebrates students’ academic achievements, and in earlier years, athletic and other achievements as well.
This collection has been compiled over the years through many separate accessions of various sizes from various offices and individuals, none of which has any accompanying documentation. The original order of the documents is unknown. The arrangement order presented here has been imposed by the College Archives staff. Accruals are transferred continually to the College Archives by the Office of Communications and Marketing and the Office of the V.P. for Administration and Treasurer.
