Biographical / Historical

First held in 1977. Each spring, classes are suspended for one day to allow all students and faculty to participate in the Symposium Day program.

The Annual Symposium is an opportunity for selected students to present their research to an audience of their peers and mentors who, in most cases, are Beloit College faculty. In some instances, however, students have worked on their research with faculty from other campuses ranging from the University of Chicago to the University of Ghana. Each year, approximately 50-100 students are selected to present their research.
