Scope and Contents

The Dance collection contains mostly programs, flyers, posters, and invitations for various dance performances, notably by the groups Chelonia, Orchesis, and Terrapin. There are a small number of news articles, clippings, and press releases regarding the groups and events. Because of the large amount of material on Chelonia, the group is separated into a second box.

The Beloit College audiovisuals collection contains many recordings of dance performances, particularly from the 2000s and later, in VHS and MiniDv formats. Those recordings are not listing in this finding aid, but can be searched by contacting the Beloit College Archives at 608-363-2485.

This collection has been compiled over the years through many separate accessions of various sizes from various offices and individuals, none of which has any accompanying documentation. The original order of the documents is unknown. The arrangement order presented here has been imposed by the College Archives staff.
