Biographical / Historical
Edited from a letter from the Congregational Christian New Bureau, April 10, 1946.
Dr. Gates (1857-1946) was educated at Beloit College, Class of 1877, Chicago Theological Seminar, Class of 1881, and Edinburgh University. After being ordained as a Congregational minister, he worked for the American Board of Foreign Missions in Turkey. He held the position of President at Euphrates College, Harpoot and Robert College, Istanbul. He provided aid to people after the Armenian genocide.

Abstract
Dr. Caleb Frank Gates graduated from Beloit College in 1877. He went on to attend the Chicago Theological Seminar and Edinburgh University. After becoming an ordained Congregational minister, he worked for the American Board of Foreign Missions in Turkey, where he provided aid to Turkish citizens during the Armenian genocide. He also served as President of Euphrates College, Harpoot and Robert College, Istanbul.
