Academic Honor Societies collection
Scope and Contents
This collection is divided into two series, Miscellaneous Organizations and Omicron Delta Kappa.
The Miscellaneous Organizations series contains records for a variety of academic honorary society groups, including Alpha Lambda Delta, Artus (Omicron Delta Gamma), Phi Eta Sigma, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Theta Alpha Phi. Records include correspondence, financial information, constitutions, member lists, and meeting minutes, among other things.
The Omicron Delta Kappa series is arranged alphabetically by subject, and contains correspondence between the local Beloit College circle and the national organization, meeting minutes, Beloit College guides to courses and professors, membership cards and lists, nationally provided member manuals and handbooks, national and regional (Province XI) newsletters. The bulk of the documents are from 1947-1948 and the mid-to-late 1970s.
This collection does not include records for the academic honor societies Phi Beta Kappa or Mortar Board (Senior Bench Chapter), both of which have their own separate collections in the Beloit College Archives.
